What This Verse Does Not Say:
- This doesn’t guarantee material prosperity as a reward for faithfulness (Philippians 4:12)
- This doesn’t guarantee good health for the faithful (2 Timothy 4:20)
- This doesn’t mean that every coincidence we deem to be good is God’s direct working (Matthew 5:45)
- This doesn’t mean that if our physical circumstances are bad that they will eventually improve (1 Corinthians 15:19)
Remember the Context
- Paul is discussing spiritual matters (v. 6, 23-25, 29-30)
- This verse is talking about our spiritual good
God Has Done His Part (v. 29-31)
- Foreknowledge
- Predestination
- Calling
- Justification
- Glorification
We Must Do Our Part
- “Those who love God” are those who obey Him (1 John 5:3; Romans 1:5)
- Use every situation for our spiritual good
