We Must Take the Initiative
- Don’t treat others as they treat you, but as you want them to treat you
- People may not treat us the way we would like (2 Timothy 3:12; Matthew 5:38-41)
- We must treat others as we would want them to treat us (Romans 13:8-10; Matthew 22:39-40)
Why Are We To Treat Others This Way?
- Commanded
- Value of each person (Genesis 1:27; John 3:16)
- God deals with us in the way we deal with others (Matthew 6:14-15; 7:1-2)
- If we love God, we must love others (1 John 4:11, 20-21)
How Should We Treat Others?
- Put others first (Philippians 2:3-4)
- Be willing to forgive (Matthew 6:14)
- Strive to live in peace (Romans 12:17-21)
- Help them when they are in need (Galatians 6:10)
- Lead them to the truth (Colossians 4:6; Ephesians 4:15)
