Spiritual, not Physical
- This bread is lasting (John 6:35)
- Better than the manna given to the Israelites (John 6:31-33,49,58)
- Better than the bread He recently provided (John 6:1-14)
- This bread was His word (John 6:68, 54-58; John 6:53, 1:14)
Why We Need this Bread
- Bread is necessary for survival (John 6:68)
- Bread is necessary for growth (2 Peter 3:18)
- We must look to Him for sustenance (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17)
Why People Reject It
- It is demanding (Matthew 7:14, 21-23)
- It is exclusive (Matthew 7:13-14)
- It requires humility (James 1:21)
