Text: Isaiah 33:22

Judicial Branch — “The Lord is our judge

  • Christ will judge each of us (2 Corinthians 5:10)
  • He is fit to be our judge — unbiased (Acts 10:34-35), knows & understands the law (John 1:14)
  • He has the exclusive right to judge us (Colossians 2:16-17,20-22)

Legislative Branch — “The Lord is our lawgiver

  • Christ delivered His law (1 Corinthians 9:21)
  • We must obey His word (Matthew 28:20; 2 Timothy 1:13; Colossians 3:17)
  • His law is perfect (Psalm 19:7), unchanging (Galatians 1:8), simple (Ephesians 3:4)

Executive Branch — “The Lord is our king

  • Jesus claimed to be a king (John 18:36-37)
  • His kingdom is here today (Matthew 16:18-19; Mark 9:1; Colossians 1:13)
  • He has all authority (Matthew 28:18)

The Outcome — “He will save us

  • No human government can save us (Isaiah 31:1)
  • Salvation found only in Christ (Acts 4:12)
